This website & blog package includes 10 cutting-edge plugins that add functionality to the platform. To see them, just login and click [Plugins] in the upper right-hand corner. You’ll notice they can each be activited or deactivated according to your own preferences.
There are countless plugins available for WordPress websites and more are being created every day. You can find a plugin for just about anything and we encourage you to scan through the possibilities to see if there are specific plugins you’d like to incorporate into your own website. Visit the WordPress Plugin Directory to take a look.
Once you have found the plugins you’d like, you’ll need to download the ZIP files and then FTP them onto your server. Please visit Change Your Theme for complete instructions on how to do this.
You will quickly notice that your plugins are being upgraded all the time. When a newer version is available, a little callout will appear by the [Plugins] tab, advising you to perform the upgrade. Fear not. It’s actually very easy to do.
Each plugin will have an automatic upgrade option. Just click that link and then let it work away. It might take a few minutes. Be patient. If it works correctly, it will download the newer version and install it on your server. But it may not work correctly. Sometimes it does. Sometimes is doesn’t. If it fails, just click back to [Plugins] and try again.
When this happens to me, I usually try doing something else first and then coming back to it later. For some reason, the connection with the WordPress directory doesn’t always stick so it hangs and eventually fails. Don’t worry. It’s not a big deal. Just come back to it later and try it again. In the end, you’re platform is being upgraded without costing you a penny.
Each plugin may add another link to your Dashboard somewhere. Perhaps it’s under the [Manage] tab or maybe it’s under [Settings]. Regardless where it is, we recommend checking it out to see what configuration options you have and getting acquainted with it. In most cases, you’ll be impressed with the options and can immediately incorporate it into your website.
