Add or Edit an Image
You can easily delete or modify this page. Visit add or edit a page instructions for more details.
Okay. Let’s get started. As you can see, we’ve included one of our sample images on this page. Login to your Dashboard, click [Manage] and then [Pages] and find this page. Up it up so you can see this text in the edit window.
First, notice that there are two tabs at the top of the edit window. One says [Visual] and the other one says [HTML]. In all likelihood, you’re on the Visual tab right now. Well, let’s start by clicking [HTML] to reveal all the codes.
You’ll notice the code used to tell the website to insert an image on the right-hand side. Take a look at the code and try to see what it’s doing. I know it might be intimidating at first, but the more comfortable you become with the actual HTML, the more things you’ll be able to do later on.
Next, click back to [Visual] and hover your cursor over the first [Add media:] button at the top. You’ll notice there are four different ones, each for a different type of file. The first one says [insert an image]. If you have an image on your computer, try clicking that button and then following the instructions to upload your image.
Once uploaded, you can scroll down and it will give you a variety of options to insert the image on this page. Play around with it. Experiment. You’re almost certain to get frustrated the first few times but each attempt will increase your familiarity with the options.
Whether you insert an image using the actual HTML code or the [Add media:] buttons is up to you, but here are a few things to keep in mind.
- The resolution of your image should be 72 DPI (dots per inch).
- You can add a link to your image by clicking the link button and entering the URL.
You do NOT need to know HTML to use WordPress. However, you will find that some basic knowledge goes a long way as you build and modify your pages and posts. With that in mind, we have included the following links to HTLM sites we find useful.
